From Tax to Treasury and FP&A to A/P, our teams connected to Finance manage monetary complexities at a global scale in a new business category that continues to expand. As a conglomeration of number-savvy professionals who encompass multiple teams, they ensure everything from our month-end close processes to our P&L ownership and SG&A are on point. Our Tax team is responsible for the worldwide tax compliance, provision calculations, and tax planning for the company. We have it all – technical issues, process development, technology implementation, and communication needs to name a few. You will have access to some of the top authorities in the field as we complete each project.

We are seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join our Global Income Tax Compliance Function. As a Senior Tax Manager, you will oversee the non-US income tax compliance and planning processes, and support the US compliance process along with ad hoc special projects. The ideal candidate must be capable of managing Groupon’s non-US income tax compliance while reviewing difficult calculations specific to technology companies, be able to collaborate with people throughout all parts of the organization, manage compliance engagements with outside tax advisors and have a desire to grow and develop your skills in non-US tax compliance and tax planning.

You’ll spend time on the following:

  • Manage the non-US corporate income tax outsourced compliance process and review tax filings, including research and analysis of key tax issues across circa 20 jurisdictions

  • Develop and implement compliance strategies, procedures and controls to ensure we adhere to our requirements under local law and aid with continuous process improvement.

  • Assist in the management of income tax audits.

  • Stay apprised of tax law and regulation changes both domestically and at an EU and OECD level.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact with external compliance providers.

  • Assist with tax reporting for US GAAP and statutory audit purposes.

  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and career and skill development opportunities for the team.

  • Build strong connections across all departments, including but not limited to accounting, finance, and legal.

  • Manage all installment payment timelines and inputting into cash flow forecasts.

  • Manage and support domestic and international tax planning, including corporate legal entity restructuring, acquisitions, and divestitures.

  • Involvement with the wider tax team on Pillar 2 readiness and associated compliance implications.

  • Assist with the management of the mandatory disclosure requirements.

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting

  • ACA/ACCA/CTA or equivalent qualification

  • 7+ years of corporate income tax experience

  • Prior experience developing and managing a team

  • Strong business judgment and excellent project management skills

  • Strong business partnering skills

  • Experience working on tax audits

  • You're a details person with a penchant for preparing meticulously accurate work
