Senior Deliverability Operations Specialist
Summary
The role of the Deliverability Operations Specialist is to ensure optimal deliverability rates through daily monitoring of outbound email and inbox placement as well as push notification traffic, following best practices, and keeping up with changing industry laws and regulations. This person will report to the in region deliverability lead delivering regular reports on deliverability performance, troubleshooting delivery & system problems, and advising their manager on best practices to optimize delivery performance, which will be shared with the business stakeholders as needed. This person will also participate in a rotating on call schedule providing deliverability specific support as required.
Responsibilities

Perform problem recognition and analyze the root cause of delivery issues tailored to the country’s specific email program and business needs with minimal supervision.

Use advanced analytic tools, techniques, and processes for debugging purposes and issue resolution

Observe cross-functional efforts on collaboration in region to identify issues and increase inbox placement

Liaise with the below teams on email delivery

Messaging Engineering (MTA) Team

Messaging Analytics & Automation Team
-
Rocketman Team
-
Marketing Teams
-
Vendors as required

Collaborate with Rocketman and Messaging Engineering to ensure optimal email construction enforcing all authentication standards

Perform regular monitoring of outbound email campaigns to ensure adherence to best practices

Provide region-specific metrics and analytics data on delivery rates

Be available for a rotating on-call schedule for Messaging Delivery after-hour support
Requirements
-
3-5 years deliverability expertise including authentication standards (SPF/DKIM/DMARC), IP and domain reputation factors that affect delivery, root cause analysis, ISP AUPs, spam filtering methodology, privacy considerations and log analysis

Experience with Email Best practices such as proper IP segmentation, bounce processing, permission practices, along with positive & negative engagement levers

3+ years’ experience with high volume (over 1B/year) commercial email delivery

Advanced understanding of DNS & how it affects delivery

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to reach team goals and proactively seek assistance as required

Flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work within a global support organization
