The Opportunity
The Pre-Sales Engineer is the face of Infoworks’ product and technical capabilities to both business and technical prospects. They are a valued technical expert and partner to the Sales team. Providing pre-sales technical support to customers and prospects that are evaluating Infoworks’ products, you will use in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales counterparts, customers and prospects through technical sales presentations and product demonstrations. In addition, you will work closely with your sales counterparts to assess potential application of company products to meet customer needs through the creation of detailed solution architectures for complex data engineering and analytics use cases.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to listen, empathize, and uncover true pain points, translating business needs into demonstrable solutions. You will partner with customers and prospects to help them build proof of concepts that demonstrate the feasibility of the software, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demos for the client. This role requires travel to customer locations up to, and may exceed, 25% of the time, based on the needs of the business.

- Able to demonstrate past contributions in providing product support in the enterprise software sales cycle with a clear ability to link technical features to business outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Own the technical presales process and ensure the success of POCs conversion to opportunities.
- Own and manage the development, delivery and/or orchestration of technical activities driving toward technical validation, technical selection and technical closure with the customer.
- Use in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales and customers through sales presentations, POCs, and product demonstrations.
- Provide consultation, product capability assessment, and validation to prospective users.
- Assist sales in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer products/applications/solutions.
- Capture requested features and feedback information to the Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing teams.
- Lead executive-level technical demonstrations at large enterprise organizations articulating our value proposition.
- Deliver in-depth online and in-person demonstrations of our solution as well as at field events such as conferences, seminars, etc.
- Assist in the development, validation and maintenance of sales materials, knowledge bases, product documentation and tutorial videos.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5 -7 years of customer facing experience in presales or sales engineering of enterprise software solutions, as well as supporting implementations.
- Experience and deep understanding of technology and solutions selling.
- Demonstrated technical experience in cloud big data technologies and environments: [SQL, RDBMS, data warehouses, Data quality, MDM, BI tools, DataBricks, Hadoop, Python] and [Azure, AWS, Google].
- Experience with industry leading data integration tools such as Informatica, Talend, Fivetran, Matillion, Azure Data Factory, and AWS Glue is a plus.
- Expert-level presentation, customer service, financial/business acumen, and negotiation skills at all levels of customer engagement.
- Ability to learn new technical subject matter quickly.
- Ability to be flexible and to adapt to changing, situations, tools, and requirements
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related discipline
- Ability to travel
