Job Description:

The Network Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and reliable network infrastructures for our oncology practices. Working closely with the IT team and practice managers, you will ensure seamless connectivity, optimize network performance, and contribute to the overall success of our healthcare operations. Your expertise will contribute to safeguarding sensitive healthcare data and maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and information.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust and scalable network architectures for our oncology practices, considering factors such as security, performance, and reliability.

• Configure and deploy network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points, ensuring proper connectivity and integration.

• Implement and maintain network security measures to safeguard sensitive patient data and comply with healthcare security regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST).

• Monitor and analyze network traffic for anomalies and security breaches, taking proactive measures to mitigate risks.

• Monitor network performance and analyze data to identify bottlenecks, latency issues, and other network-related problems.

• Optimize network configurations and protocols to ensure efficient data transmission and reliable connectivity.

• Diagnose and resolve network issues, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely resolution.

• Conduct root cause analysis of network incidents and implement preventive measures.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.

• Document network changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities to facilitate knowledge sharing.

• Plan and execute network upgrades, patches, and firmware updates to ensure network reliability and security.

• Coordinate maintenance schedules with minimal disruption to clinical operations.

• Collaborate with IT teams, practice managers, and external partners to understand network requirements and provide technical support.

• Provide guidance and mentorship, sharing knowledge and best practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.

• Palo Alto Firewall Experience is a plus.

• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex network environments, preferably in a healthcare or medical practice setting.

• Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, security, and troubleshooting techniques.

• Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA and HITRUST.

• Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.

• Stay updated on the latest networking technologies and industry trends.
