Position Overview:

As the Director of Global Compensation, you will play a critical role in developing and executing a comprehensive compensation strategy across Asia, Africa, Canada, Europe, and North America that aligns with our business objectives while attracting, retaining, and motivating a diverse workforce. Your expertise in compensation design, market analysis, and data-driven decision-making will guide our approach to compensation across regions. Reporting to the Vice President of Global Talent Acquisition, you will be responsible for the following:

Global Compensation Strategy:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to design and implement a global compensation strategy that supports our growth objectives, ensures market competitiveness, and drives employee engagement.

Market Analysis:

  • Conduct regular market benchmarking and analysis to ensure our compensation practices remain competitive and aligned with industry trends across North America, EMEA, and APAC.

Compensation Design:

  • Develop and enhance compensation structures, pay ranges, and incentive programs to drive performance, recognize top talent, and promote equity.

Variable Pay Programs:

  • Lead the design and implementation of variable pay programs, including annual incentive plans and long-term incentive awards, to reward and retain key talent.

  • Lead and manage the annual compensation review cycle across VDC Regions, in partnership with the human resources leadership team ensuring alignment with global strategy and local regulations.

Data Analytics:

  • Utilize compensation data and analytics to provide insights to leadership, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities to enhance compensation practices.

  • Partner closely with the Manager for Global People analytics to build forward looking models for headcount projection, compensation analysis for new site selection and salary benchmarking to ensure we have strong internal equity and are also market competitive.

Global Governance:

  • Ensure that compensation programs comply with regional regulations, labor laws, and internal policies across multiple jurisdictions.

Communication, Education and Training:

  • Develop effective communication strategies to educate employees about compensation programs, fostering a clear understanding of their total rewards .

  • Deliver training on compensation philosophy & practices, fostering a performance culture within VDC.

Equity Plans:

  • Manage equity compensation programs, including stock options and restricted stock units, in collaboration with legal and finance teams.

  • Educate eligible team members on equity compensation plans, policies, and adherence to local tax / jurisdiction regulations.

Pay for Performance Management Alignment:

  • Collaborate with HR teams to align compensation practices with our performance management framework, ensuring a clear link between pay and performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent work experience required.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in compensation management, with a proven track record of managing global compensation programs.

  • In-depth knowledge of compensation principles, market analysis, and variable pay program design.

  • Demonstrated experience in broad-based and/or equity compensation administration.

  • Proficient in MS Office, with above average Excel capabilities.

  • Maintain/elevate the tools we use (i.e. Mercer, Comptryx, etc.)

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and leverage compensation data.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex compensation concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Ability to evaluate, select and implement global compensation tools.

  • Well-versed in compensation regulations and practices across a global remit.

  • Familiarity with compensation-related regulations and practices across different regions.

  • Previous experience with PowerBI is a nice to have, but not required.

  • Certifications in Compensation, such as CCP, Global Renumeration Professional (GRP) and/or Certified Global Compensation Professional (CGCP) preferred.

Additional Details:

  • Salary Range: $140,000 - $170,000 base plus bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.

  • Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.

  • This role is preferred to be in our Global Headquarters in Denver, CO per our hybrid work model two (2) days per week, but we are considering candidates who are fully remote as well.
